1.3 Application
Valeric acid has a wide range of applications. It is commonly used as an initiator for the synthesis of resins and rubber; it can also undergo esterification reactions to produce various valeric acid diester products, which are widely used in fields such as perfumes, solvents, and plasticizers; at the same time, it can be dehydrated to form valeric acid anhydride, which is used in the paint and pharmaceutical intermediate industries.
From a structural perspective, valeric acid is stable in nature and possesses the typical characteristics of linear di-terephthalic acids, and can be used as a polymer monomer to produce polymer materials such as polyesters and polyamides.
